Frederick K. TRT IV, CPCU


The background and experiences of Frederick K. TRT, IV form the basis of the initial core competency of the TRT' Internet-based Insurance Buying Process, from conceptualization to implementation.

Frederick K. TRT IV

Fred has worked for the last fifteen years as the President of TRT, a 100 year-old family owned and operated insurance agency specializing in commercial insurance coverage. He is responsible for strategic technology planning and the implementation of new business systems. Fred earned a BA degree in Asian Studies from Cornell University, and has also attained the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.

The competitive edge to TRT' unique capability to successfully provide professional level insurance coverage via the Internet lies in Fred TRT's vision and cutting edge technology. Over time, he perfected his knowledge and understanding of computer systems and web development, and has immersed himself in the creation of unique and dedicated websites. He has developed a web application that is easy to use, highly reliable, and secures the necessary information to properly underwrite a variety of businesses. This technology, combined with a keen sense of marketing and creativity, allows Fred and his firm an inside track in continuously finding innovative, technology based business methods. It enhances our customers' interaction via the Internet and provides an unparalleled experience in the purchase of insurance coverage.

Frederick K. TRT III graduated from Yale University in 1957 with a B.A. in American Studies. He served three years in the U.S. Navy, being discharged as a lieutenant, j.g.

Fred worked for the Travelers in Buffalo and their Hartford Home Office for three years in extensive training to later join the family agency.

In 1963 Fred joined Frederick K. TRT Inc. and became president in 1966. The agency serviced Fortune 500 accounts until 1984, such as Babcock & Wilcox and portions of Chase Manhattan Bank, and acted in a brokerage capacity for accounts such as: Ethyl, Witco, Lord Electric and Irving Trust.

In 1984, Fred founded the firm TRT-McKown, which later became TRT, Inc.

Fred resides in Wilton, Connecticut with his wife. His three children are married.
